Sketch time at My Time to Craft...

and what a fabulous sketch we have for everyone to use. It's really different and such fun. I loved using it. I must admit I have strayed a little, but I do think that's allowed as sometimes the images and embellishments don't quite work where you want them to.
Has anyone else seen the Facebook posts from saddos telling us that it is only 6 months to Christmas? I did and felt quite smug as I've done quite a few cards already and here's one more to add to the box. All done in Hunky Dory stuff that I bought leading up to last Christmas. I still have enough to last me for the next ten years as I don't really sell many cards. Lovely stuff though and great to pull out when you don't really feel like stamping and colouring.

Summertime at Aud Sentiments...

It's Thursday again and that means it's Aud Sentiments challenge day. This time our theme is a 'Summertime Sentiment' and guess which DT member got it wrong!! Hmm if I had a brain I would be dangerous!
I must admit that I started out okay and had a the correct type of sentiment but it didn't quite fit where I wanted it to and so I stamped something else and went completely off the rails. Having said that how Summertime are my sunflowers so I may just get away with it. Plus what better time than summer to 'make every day one to remember'? This sentiment is a Hero Arts one that I have had a long long time and it still stamps beautifully which is more than can be said for my clear stamps which I wish I had never bought in the first place.
The fabulous sunflower image was kindly donated by our sponsor Make it Crafty who have also donated the prize for the challenge. Well worth entering and winning as there are some stunning designs on offer. I've just noticed they have some great background digi stamps that I may have to invest in. I especially like this one Twisted Love.

Massive project...

This is the project I have been busy on after doing an amazing workshop with Toni Darroch at Stamps by Me. It's nowhere near finished, but I'm having such fun working on it. We made the bare bones of the book at the two day workshop and then brought the book home to add our photos and all the fun extras. You can see an amazing you tube video of Toni's book HERE and if you can't make it to one of her workshops you can buy the instructions from her too.
The photo above shows the first page of the book which is fastened to the inside front cover with a flap and magnetic closure.
Opening the flap reveals this part of the book...

a double page spread with original photos from my grandparents wedding in the 1920s. Two of the photos are held in place by belly bands and I've attached tabs to the top of the photos to prevent too much handling. The photo corners are taken from an old album and reused.

Closing the page carefully - must admit I have made this all very bulky - good job the magnets are really strong ones takes us back to the photo from the top of this post.
To include all the photos I wanted to on this page I added a concertina effect attached by a hinge to the back of the first page. It opens out like this on one side...
