My Time to Craft Day...

I am so enjoying my time as guest designer at My Time to Craft.  This week's challenge of all white except the image really stretched my brain as I had loads of ideas, but couldn't decide which one to go with.  In the end I used my Silhouette machine to create this star shaped card and then added a cute stamped Penny Black hedgehog to the middle.
The fancy cut out part of the star was attached to the main body with foam strips to give it depth.  A bit fiddly, but worth it I think.
The image was coloured using Spectrum Noir pencils and then chalked around the edges.  I seem to be doing quite well lately in getting ahead with my Christmas cards.  Hope to continue as last year was a bit hectic to say the least.

Additional Challenges...
Have a good weekend everyone and do pop over to MTTC to see the fab projects by the rest of the team too.

Aud Sentiments Day...

This fortnight's challenge at Aud Sentiments is a Bingo type one where you can choose three items from one of the lines to use on your card.  I chose to use a digi stamp, flowers and embossing.
We are being sponsored by The Stamping Boutique and I have used their 'Little Girl with a Stroller' digi stamp in my project.

Other challenges...anything goes at
Ooops forgot to say I used the sketch at Sketch Saturday to plan the design.

Have fun whatever you are up to.  Party day today for my grandson - bring on the cake and jelly!

Triceratops on the prowl...

and looking very angry.  I think this one must be protecting it's young as it is definitely about to charge at something or someone.  This is another card made for my gorgeous dinosaur loving grandson who will be 4 on Thursday.  Oh my how time flies?
Again I've used the Krafty Hands dinosaur CD for both the image and the backing paper.  I use Craft Artist to plan my design on the computer and only print out the elements and size of paper I need.  The dark green circle, the scalloped circle and the red lacy circle were all cut out using dies and then layered up.

Challenges... none of which are featuring dinosaurs as a theme!!

Enjoy the sunshine everyone.

Sparkly Shiny Monday Morning...

Yeah the sun is shining - my Sweet Pea stamps are sorted (see yesterday's post) and I've finally used one of them and made a card.  I love, love, love this stamp by Karen Middleton called 'Shiny Stuff Fairy'.  I've had her a long time and still love inking her up and creating with her, although having had a break from crafting a while back my colouring leaves a lot to be desired these days.  Mental note must try harder!
It's a while since I used this shape of card too and I do like the style.  I used to buy them ready cut, but now I have some large dies that cut both the fancy base and the circle of backing paper.  Crafting is so much easier than it used to be!  We are so spoilt (and bankrupt) by the huge range of products available now.
On a cheaper note the little star was created using a die that came free on a magazine - the magazine was so boring, but I love the die!  It has a big brother too.

Challenges...

Off to do some more crafting.  Have a great day whatever you are up to.

Stamp Storage...

Is anyone like me with a whole drawer full of unmounted stamps, but because they are unmounted you can hardly tell which is which?  Well the other day I wanted to join in the Facebook Sweet Pea stamps challenge, but you have to use a stamp that is currently on their website to join in.  Oh what a job I had trying to decipher what each stamp was and then I had a light bulb moment and tried this out.  Stamp the image on any old scraps of white card - add to the pockets on the jewellery holder and then add the rubber stamp to the back and bobs your uncle.

Two sides too so in total you can store 66 stamps - oops - I think I may need a few more hangers!

There is plenty of room for each stamp and so easy to find the one you want.  I think I bought the hanger at B&M stores, but I've seen them on sale all over and they are not very expensive. I wonder how long it will take a craft company to seize the idea and sell them at £30 a time!!

Now I know this is not a card or a scrapbook page or anything of the sort, but I did use snippets of white card and it took ages so I'm entering into the challenge at Pixie's Snippet Playground.  I think Di would like to see this idea anyway cause I have a feeling she might just have a few stamps to house too.
The sun is shining here and I'm having a fabulous weekend.  I hope you are too.
