How old?....

My daughter rang and wanted a card to send to one of the elderly residents in the nursing home and of course just like all daughters she wanted the card yesterday!  
Thinking fast about how to do a card for a 100 year old with not much time available I decided to get my Silhouette out and have a play.  So many gorgeous cutting files from the Silhouette store  in my library I ended up cutting lots of different things out, but in the end came to decide on a this cake card front.  So easy to do and of course it could be cut in so many different colour ways.  I will definitely be using it again.

Materials...

• Pink card, silver mirri and white scalloped card base
• gems and organza ribbon
• large A4 dots embossing folder

Yet more hearts...

After taking the Valentine Cards into the hospice shop where I work yesterday the manager requested a card less 'sloppy' - even this one was too much for her.  I suggested just a heart featuring where she lives and a simple sentiment which eventually led to this card featuring both her home town and her new partner's. Hopefully this fits the bill without being too romantic for her.

After getting my hands smacked yesterday I've really tried hard and read the rules for each challenge.  Sometimes it does get tricky though - in fact on one challenge it was so complicated I gave up and decided not to enter.  On Fab 'n' Funky they had my favourite which I've copy and pasted below...

Happy Birthday Jennie...

I know Jennie has received this card so it's okay to post it on here now.  I used really old Hot of the Press papers for this card - all matching but with different subtle beige patterns.  I used one of the darker patterned papers to paper piece the stamped flower. 
The sentiment was stamped using a clear stamp which I've had some time and it was actually stuck solid to the backing sheet - I don't know what make the stamp set is as it was not in the original wrapper, but  I do hope that it doesn't happen to too many of my stamps!  I had to cut round the backing sheet and stick that on the block!  Not good!

A quick card and a quick post...

Another for the box - same idea but done on a smaller card and with no frills.  The Valentine cards I'm making at the moment are to raise funds for the local hospice and at the Charity Shop people really don't want to spend big time.  So my thoughts were to make some small, ultra easy cards that can be sold at a minimum price.
This card was just designed using the Craft Artist software and then printed out on photo paper to attach to a small 5 by 5 card.  Simples as the Meercat family would say!

Huge apologies if I should have used a digi or certain stamp for these challenges - in a rush this morning and not had time to read all the rules.  Consider my hands suitably smacked!

Oh dear had to remove one of the challenges - so many rules on challenges these days about what images to use etc.  Note to self don't enter that one again!!!

Oh my yet more hearts...

This one was made using a little sample piece from my bits and bobs drawer.  When I first got my Silhouette my lovely friend Trish came to give me lessons and this heart background was one of the things she cut out while showing me the ropes.  Such a shame not to use it so this weekend I mat and layered it onto red and added a little stamped Penny Black hedgie to the centre.  I so love my Penny Black stamps - they never fail to bring a smile and never seem to date either.
No sentiment on the front of this card, but I'll make sure the inner is a little bit special and add something inside.
