Snowflake sketch - and it's PINK!...

Well Laura will be proud of me with this card (which may be hers at Christmas depending on what else I get done). It's PINK - well it is in real life - what is my camera playing at? I had an awful time trying to get a photo due to the mirri card anyway and ended up taking the photo at a tilt, which is not bad but not perfect.


As you can see I've used Robin's gorgeous snowman digi again - it's just so cute!! This time I wanted the whole card to be be bigger and have more oomph so I used an 8" x 8" base card to matt and layer on to.

The snowflake was cut at 5" using my Christmas Cricut cartridge - I just love the way you can cut variations of the snowflake shape and layer them up decoupage fashion.

oh uh just gone to schedule my post and have realised today is Friday 13th - eeeeeeeeeeeek stay safe everyone - with the weather as cold as it is and it being 'that day' on the calender maybe it would be a good time to have a 'duvet' day.

hmmmmmm yep it definitely is Friday 13th - spot the error on my card - poor Mr Snowman his carrot nose needs colouring!!!

Snowflake sketch...

I've been wanting to use the amazing sketch at Friday Sketchers all week and I've actually only just made it before the sketch changes tomorrow. I just thought it was such a great idea to have a snowflake frame like this to mount an image on.

The image I've used is from Squigglefly and was designed by my talented team member and friend, Robin Willis, from The Pink Elephant. Isn't that snowman just so cute and I love the words that go all the way around the image - 'Snowmen have cold hands and warm hearts'.

Winter Scene...

A winter scene on the front of a simple shopping list book. These books are only about 15p at Wilkinsons and with just a decorated front they become something special - well I think they do.

I made this one at the Sheena Douglas workshop I went to a couple of weeks back. The sentiment is slightly crooked as there was so much going on and it's hard to concentrate on stamping straight with Sheena bursting with energy and enthusiasm right at the side of you. Anyone who has seen Sheena in action will understand I'm sure.

Since the workshop I've been wanting to do some more landscapes, but the right colour of Distress Ink - Faded Denim has proved really difficult to get hold of - even at the NEC nobody seemed to be selling Distress Inks and when I did find some they had sold out of that colour the day before. Will have to order some online!

Have a great day everyone. I'm hoping to make a really good start on Christmas cards today. I really wanted to yesterday, but started to sort out some papers and before I knew it I was buried under a sea of stuff that needed sorting.

Not to worry I've now found things that I didn't even know I had and some stuff that someone else must have bought cause it's really horrid!! The local nursery school will love it though.

Thank you...

It's Laura's last day tomorrow at the Care Home she has been working at for the past year. The other nurses and manager have been really good to her and she wanted a special 'Thank you' card to give them.

I'm hoping this 8" x 8" card will be special enough. Although I must admit to being a bit worried as there is no pink in it! What was I thinking of? There will be trouble!

Pink Elephant Day...

Yeah it's Monday and that means a new challenge at The Pink Elephant and this week we have the theme of 'Be Thankful'.

I decided to use one of the fabulous designs from the The Autumn Splendor digi kit in the Wild Flower Kids range available at Stamp Happens. I really love this horn of plenty image - although I'm not too happy with the how my Promarker colouring turned out. Think I need more practice on shading fruit.

The sentiment is from the Hallmark Card Studio CD yet again - love the way you can lift the sentiments from the CD and print them out in lovely fonts to add your own cards.
