Christmas is coming...

Like everyone I'm determined not to leave making Christmas cards to the last minute this year.  So here are my first for 2015.  Last Christmas I saved all the shop bought cards sent to me where I really liked the central image.  My plan being to chop the cards up and remake them which is what I've done on these two cards.
My first card is an 8" by 8"  card.  The central image of deer amongst the trees was the original Christmas card which I cut out and then added extra sparkle.    At touch of mat and layering and bish, bash, bosh a new card created.

My second card is a smaller card which already had lots of red glitter on.  I just mat and layered it to create a new and slightly larger version.  
I really must get round to making more cards.

Aud Sentiments...

Exciting stuff is happening at 'Just for fun' - I've been invited on to the team at Aud Sentiments.  I can't begin to say how totally blown away I was when I was asked to be join.  Having been away from blogging for quite some time I didn't expect anyone to take any notice of me!!  Such a fab surprise that they did.

Today begins the new challenge and my first one as part of the team.  It's BINGO!!  I  hope you'll join in.  There are two fab prizes on offer and loads of inspiration from my team members.
As the challenge is a fortnightly one my project won't be on display till next week, but just to prove I am taking part here's a sneaky peak of my work!

Top Tip Tuesday...

If you are using a large embossing folder no matter how much of a hurry you are in always make sure the folder is feeding straight into the machine.
If you don't you might hear a loud cracking noise and when removing the folder from the machine you will find that the pressure on the edge of the folder has not only buckled it slightly, but also cracked it!!
Eeeek - at this don't panic help is at hand in the form of good old masking tape which you can use to cover the crack while it heals (unlikely but I'm forever hopeful).  
I'm happy to report that the embossing folder will still work!  Writing on the masking tape 'Poorly Sick' is not compulsary, but it made me smile!

Christening Cards in abundance...

Happy Sunday everyone.  I wish the sun was shining though instead of the rain rattling down the windows.  It's so dark too, but not to worry at least I've had a good day crafting making not one but two Christening cards.

The first one is an 8" by 8" card in pink so obviously for a cute little girl.  
I used my new corner die which is one of the dies in the Molly Moo collection by Ali at Aly's Inkyfingers.  I saw the die at the Ross Papercraft Show last week, bought it - brought it home and promptly lost it in my tidying up session.  Disaster!  I was totally gutted as I loved the samples I saw at the show so much.  So (extravagantly) I ordered another die which I'm thinking of putting on a chain so it doesn't disappear into the black hole!!

I don't want to loose it again as I want to put Aly's ideas into action as well as my own.

The central focal point is an ornate cross cut out on my Silhouette - Design ID #63533 by Elizabeth Mayne. Love this design as it has 3 layers to really make it stand out from the crowd.

Card number 2 is a smaller simpler version basically using all the snippets left from making the large card. This time I added more gems and a sentiment.
