Taking a break...

Just for a little while - a little battery recharging is desperately needed.

I think it must be the shock of all this hot weather and morning till night sunshine it's quite a shock to the system.

Anyway just for a week or so I'm going AWOL - oh my I'll have loads of blog catching up to do on my return.

So be good everyone and don't forget to check out the Pink Elephant challenge on Monday!!

ATCs...

I haven't done any ATCs for ages, but decided to join in with a swap on a forum I belong to. The theme was an open one, which believe it or not always makes it harder for me cause I spend 90% of my time trying to decide what to do.

In the end I found these gorgeous silhouettes printed on acetate in my bit box and decided to make use of them. The embossed card was also bits left from other projects too and it was really satisfying to use it up on these.

On the first ATC I used chalk on the plain white embossed card to create the background effect and attached the acetate image with tiny pieces of tape behind the darkest part of the image. The torn vellum was stamped with the word 'believe' and attached with a gem brad and more gems finished the ATC off.

On the second ATC I use the back of some already embossed red card which had a gorgeous earthy brown colour on the reverse - a sort of classy cardboard colour. Again the acetate was attached with tape and embellishments added. I used an ink pad to soften the edges. The black swirl was sent to me by a friend some time ago when before I got my Cricut machine (thank you Irene).

Blog Candy Winners...

Well done to all the crafters who made and sent a card to one of the children on Post Pals this week. I hope the challenge blogs will continue to encourage everyone to keep sending those cards, letters and parcels.

Now on to our prize winners....

First out of the hat...

Max at Max's Craft Creations winner of the 'Salutations' stamp set.

Second is Val at The Crafting Pad winner of the Christmas set

and the third mystery prize goes to Kym at Kym's Crafty Cards

Double trouble...

Had to do this card really quickly last night - after my birthday celebrations so please excuse any wobbly bits!

One of the girls at my Slimming World class had asked me for a card for twins and due to other commitments I hadn't had chance to get round to doing it. However, all was not lost as out came one of my favourite Penny Black stamps (thanks for reminding me about this Irene) and a bit of Cricut labelling and of course my favourite Cuttlebug border die.

She was really pleased with the card - she should have been - have you noticed how many diamonds I stuck on? Sheesh it must have been birthday fever or the heat getting to me!

Talking of birthdays thank you for all the lovely messages - I really do have some great internet buddies.

The summer blog candy draw winners will be announced later this evening - good luck to all of you.

How lucky am I?

~To receive all these gorgeous cards from friends,..

Thank you so much for all these lovely cards - I'm having a great day.
Had some wonderful presents (rubber stamps - purse and loads of surprises) - been out for lunch and having lasagne for tea and my dear friend Cobi has made me a special Dutch apple pie to have for afters. OH my you should see it! This is the apple pie to beat all pies - it's enormous and it's weigh in day at Slimming World tomorrow. There must be about a thousand sins in each slice!!!
Would anyone like to help me out eating it?

Pink Elephant Day...

Wow Monday again, which of course means that it's Pink Elephant day - yeah!

This week our challenge is to use your 'favourite colours' - my goodness how easy is that? We are being sponsored by DRS Designs and there's a great prize on offer for one lucky person.

DRS also provided each of the team with a stamp to play along with - sadly mine was stolen by the postman so I've used images kindly stamped for me by team member Carol. I do love the stamp Carol chose. I believe it's one of the new Dustin Pike rubber stamps available at DRS.

Hope everyone has loads of fun this week and looking forward to seeing your creations.
