Bah! Humbug! Challenge 3 - Glitter...

Just a short post today as this working lark is extremely tiring - it really should have a government health warning attached to it!  Seriously though thank you everyone for your good wishes and crossed fingers.  My transport problems are sorted and I think I'm really going to love the job or at least I will once I've got the initial training done with.

Friday is time for a new challenge at Bah! Humbug! and this week our theme is GLITTER!  My card has loads of glitter on, but does it show up in the picture - no way - typical! 

The shop background complete with glitter is by Kanban.  After layering the shop and canopy on to my card  I used my Promarkers to colour one of the shopping girls by Charmed Cards to match the colours already on the shop front.  Love the way digi stamps can sized to be in proportion with things you already have.

Pink Flower Baby...

Probably not a good idea to ask about my first day at work as I feel totally stressed and not a happy bunny at all.  Sigh - not really the job more the silly bus system that means you can't get anywhere fast and can't get anywhere at all early on a Sunday morning.  What happened to the government wanting car drivers to leave their cars at home - some hope in this area!!

Sorry moan over and on to better things like this gorgeous baby stamp by Stampotique Originals  - how cute is that?  I just love this range of stamps designed by Janet Klein - so different and they definitely have the wow factor.

I used our sketch at The Pink Elephant for the layout of my card and the fab glittery paper is from the butterfly stack by DCWV - thanks Lorraine I just love my blog candy prize.

• No time to stamp - flowers and spring pick me up colours
• Daring Card Makers - holes - not immediately obvious on my card, but I've got a little craze at the moment on putting holes in corners to let the colour from below shine through - just an alternative to brads.
• One Stop Craft Challenge - fancy edges or corners (not sure if mine are fancy enough but heh I've had a rotten day so let me off please)
  

This may be my last posting till Friday's Bah! Humbug! challenge as working is seriously effecting my craft time.  Not good at all.

Pink Elephant Day - and it's Sketch Time!

I love sketch time at The Pink Elephant as Robin, Lori and Frances do such amazing sketches - so easy to follow, but yet so stunning.  This week sees a fab sketch by Robin and we are being sponsored by Stampotique Originals.  If you have never heard of Stampotique before then you definitely need to head over and check out their amazing range of stamps - just so different and totally unique.
On my card I've used is Topknot, which is one of the stamps in the range by  Jill Penney & Daniel Torrente.  I know my youngest daughter, Shelley, will love this image and she has said she wants me to make a Valentine card for her boyfriend to give her.  I hope she's told him about this arrangement! 

At Christmas one of my stocking filler gifts from Laura was a pack of charms - one in particular stood out as being perfect to go with this stamp especially combined with the computer generated 'Wild Thing' sentiment.  Shelley is a Hendrix fan - Led Zeppelin too - who would have thought that my idols as a teenager would be approved of my daughter many years later.  Weird!!
The snakeskin paper was some that has been in my stash for ages - sigh still got half a sheet left.  The heart leaves around the oval were stamped using a bargain stamp called 'Flower Hearts' that I bought in a sale recently. I painted the image using mica paint and tinted the edge of the oval with pearly chalk.
