Avoiding housework...

Well just a couple of weeks ago I discovered a far better way of dusting - Ink Dusters - and now better ironing!  I've been playing with wax and loving it.
These are my first works from an Encaustic Art class I went to yesterday and okay maybe not that wonderful, but I feel like a kid bringing a painting home from nursery and just have to show my work.  I'll keep the burn mark on my arm well hidden and next week I'll remember not to reach over a hot iron!

The one below went completely wrong when I polished it as I rubbed too hard and most of the wax came off, but I loved the misty effect and decided to stamp over it with a stamp of a log cabin that has been in my collection for years.  It still lacked something so I added a touch of glitter.
My daughter thinks it looks like a forest fire, but I'm not listening to her.  It's a magical morning in the midst of winter.  LOL!

I really want to add a unicorn to the first one so if anyone knows of a fab unicorn silhouette in digi format please let me know.

Have a fantastic day.

Wow ... your results are fantastic Ann! Is there anything you can't do? Probably not.
Will keep a look out for a unicorn silhouette ... a dragon would be cool too. I have a fantasy CD somewhere which might have just the thing - if I can remember where it is!

Oh Ann, they are fantastic. I love them both and unless you had mentioned you'd "messed" up the second one, no-one would have known as it is gorgeous.
Strange how things come around again after years of not hearing about it. Mum and I used to do lots of things with wax including making some fantastic sprays of "Japanese" type flowers. I know it is not as creative as your pictures but in it's time, the flowers were really special.
