Have a hoot at Christmas...

First of all I need to say thank you for all the lovely comments I received yesterday. There were yet more splashes on the keyboard as I read everyone's kind and thoughtful comments. Thank you all so much for caring.

Today's card is for a friend of mine who is crazy about owls so I just had to use this fab stamp from the Hoot collection by Joanna Sheen. Isn't he cute? I just love the way he perches on the candy cane, but you can remove that if you want him to perch in a tree.

The papers I've used are absolutely gorgeous and I can't tell you the make because they were part of a blog candy I won a little while back (thank you so much Elaine). I think I've stroked them long enough and it's time they saw the light of day especially as the candy canes on the paper are a pretty good match to the theme on the stamp.

New Home...

Well just over a week ago my youngest daughter announced that she was going to get a flat with her boyfriend. This was Friday and by Monday they had the keys. By Tuesday my dippy little girl who can't make out of the door without forgetting something and having to come back was gone.

I take back every single word I've ever said about wishing one of them would move out so I could have a craft room - whoops somethings just splashed on the keyboard! I'm missing her so much - I'm even missing the constant sink full of pots she used to make - sigh!

Lots of my friends have sent her lovely new home cards so I thought I better get into action and do one too. This is one to send from me and my mum (who has taken it even worse that me and keeps bursting into tears and saying 'She will be alright won't she?).

The images I've used are from a set by PC Crafter and I've played around with them in Serif to get the sizes and shapes just right to make one of those acetate concertina cards I was shown at the Sheena Douglas workshop.

I knew I would use this style of card again and again. I thought the image of the girl pulling her possessions on a little truck was so apt for Shelley and the pick up truck with the stuff piled high with oddments reminds me of Tony's dad's car when he delivered some things for them.

Pink Elephant Day...

Yeah it's Monday again and time for a new challenge at The Pink Elephant. This week is sketch week and Lori has designed a really cute circular sketch for us all to try out. Do pop over and check out the amazing samples by my friends on the team - totally stunning.
