Pretty in PInk...

This card so nearly ended up in the bin and I'm still not 100% happy, but my pink loving daughter says she likes it and so it made it to the blog.
My downfall was matching the shade of pink in the paper to my Promarkers.  I just wasn't happy with the colours I achieved at all.  To rescue the situation I decided to stamp the little lady on to the two shades of pink card and do some paper piecing, which worked quite well and at least covered my disaster.
The fab floral backing paper is one from the free 'My Mind's Eye' paper pad in this month's Card Making and Papercraft magazine.  A gorgeous little collection - so pretty.  I didn't want to hide this paper too much so used vellum topped with pearls on the scallop nestie circle for that part of the sketch.
My card is for the challenges at...
Have a great start to the week everyone.

Bah! Humbug! - For a Special Friend...

This week at Bah! Humbug! we want everyone to make a special card for their Christmas box.  It's usually these cards that I end up doing at the last minute and really they are the ones that should have more time spent on them.  So what a great idea to do at least one of them as early as July.
My card is not intended for a friend of mine as too many of them check out my blog, but it's for my daughter to send to one of her close friends.
The image is one of Popcorn the Bear and of course as these images are so large they are perfect for using on 8" x 8" size cards.  Popcorn is coloured using Promarkers and combined with DCWV papers from one of their briliant pads.

As the card is for a special person I've decorated the inside too with the Souffle image stamped and then cut out to add to the corner and computer generated sentiments mounted on Nestie frames.
My card was also made with the following challenges in mind...
Have a great weekend everyone and don't forget to check out Bah! Humbug! this week to see the fab designs by my team mates and our guest designer, Debs.

Yesteryear...

This is a card I made in a Forum Card Swap and I know the card has been received now so I can post it on my blog.  The theme for the swap was 'Script' and luckily just as I was about to make the card I was inspired by a demo I saw by Inkylicious at the Dome last week.  I spent ages watching the amazing Deby demonstrating Ink Dusters.  Wow she made it look so easy - yes I know I've been fooled by these demos before. The black glitter episode has not been forgotten - infact I don't think I've got it completely cleared up yet.  However, I love using the Ink Dusters - so easy.
Check this out if you would like to see a snippet of the technique.  I used Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink and I also used it on the flower which is the free stamp on this month's Craft Stamper magazine.  The image is from a sheet of vintage photos by Kanban and the embossed background is not Swiss Dots but a larger square shaped folder that I can't remember the name of, but it was fab to do the whole piece in one go.

Challenges...
Hope everyone is having a great weekend.  I will be missing for a few days now as I'm working away.  Will be back for Bah! Humbug! on Friday though - can't miss that for any reason.

Thank you so much to great friends who have become followers of my blog. Love having you around.
