I had such a lovely time making this card for my really good friend Susan who has a birthday today.

It's ages since I used my Spectrum Noir pencils as I've been busy printing things or cutting on the Silhouette machine.  It was so good to just sit and colour and play and I must say I found them incredibly easy to use on the Crafter's Companion smooth card.  As to the image well no matter how many stamps I buy I always love my Penny Black ones.  They really stand the test of time.

• Penny Black large hedgie stamp and Penny Black sentiment stamp
• Flower punch
• Swirl die
• Patterned paper magazine freebie from years ago
• Pink paper, silver mirri and white base card
• gems and organza ribbon
• Spectrum Noir colour pencils

It be Thursday me hearties...

This Thursday sees week two of our birthday celebrations at Aud Sentiments and it's my turn to show case one of the fantastic designs available from Doodle Pantry.

Now I love my Promarkers, my Spectrum Noir Pencils and my Lyra crayons, but sometimes isn't it just fabulous to be super lazy and just click and print?!  

I think so and especially when making a card for a little one as they don't want to treasure a card forever they just want to be blown away by the fun images. 

Clicking and printing a ready coloured image also means you have time to make coordinating items too such as 
tags or a set of party bags etc which 
you couldn't possible colour by hand.

I wrapped up a Pirate Sticker book in Kraft paper and made a matching tag to go with the card and of course you can also get quite carried away with the inside of the card too...

I really like the idea of having a Pirate themed birthday party and making cupcake toppers, etc.  It would so quick to do and I'm sure would be a great hit with little boys.

Skate boarding...

I recently bought this fabulous blue mirri card from the craft stall on my local market and was over the moon to discover it cuts like a dream on my Silhouette machine. 
To create this design I printed the sentiment on acetate and then attached the skate boarder and blue frame to the acetate.  This was then mounted onto embossed silver mirri card.  A very thin layer of black paper edges the silver just to make it pop.  I used the blue mirri card to cover a plain white card blank which became my base card.

Materials...

• Cutting files from Silhouette store - sorry no numbers, but if you put skate board in the search this design comes up.  The frame is also in the store, but would be fairly easy to create yourself if you had time.  I was just plain lazy.

• black paper for matting
• acetate printed with sentiment
• white base card
