Acetate Challenge

I just had to join in with this challenge for so many reasons. For one thing it's being set by one of the crafters who inspired me both to join in challenges and start my own blog and for another thing it involves acetate. I love acetate nearly as much as rubber stamps!!!

This the first challenge on Rainbow Lady's Challenge Blog - and the theme is to use acetate in your work.

My image is taken from a silhouette I found on the internet and printed on to acetate. This was then attached with brads on to shaded glitter card. I wanted a soft effect so mounted the whole lot on to a vellum overlay on a gold card.

Tilda and Co Challenge - String-Aling!

This weeks challenge was to use string on Art Work - be it a piece holding the project together or the main focus of the work?

As soon as I saw this challenge I knew what I wanted to do (which is very unusual for me!). I rushed out to the shop to get some parcel string (okay truth will out - I sent my daughter - who apparently got very strange looks when she started examining the string to see if it fit the credentials I had given her).

I wanted to use my sitting down Tilda and make her a swing - a tree swing!! I used a small part of the Magnolia bench stamp and the tree together combined with string to form Tilda's very own garden swing.

I have a very good friend who is ill at the moment and I didn't want to send her the normal type of get well card - it just wasn't suitable. This one with it's friendship message on the front and inside reading 'hope you feel better soon so that we can 'play' out together will hopefully bring a smile.

Tanda Teaser - Hit the High Notes

I love many of the stamps in the Tanda collection so decided to have a go at the Wednesday challenge - better late than never!!

The music paper background is from Paperstack 5 in the DCWV range and the man and lady dancing came from one of the Tanda Retro Ladies collections. I stamped the image on to gloss card using Stazon.

The inscription which is quite hard to read on my dreadful photo reads ...

'If you want to make beautiful music,you must play the black and the white notes together' - a lovely phrase which came on a sheet of different ones from Kanban.
