Black and White

I love black and white - silhouettes - black and white papers -black and white pencil drawings I love them all. So naturally I really wanted to take part in the challenge on http://artygirlzchallengeblog.blogspot.com/. The challenge was to make a card, do a scrapbooking layout, Altered Art or anything else that took your fancy as long as it was in Black and White.

Well I decided to get out my shrink plastic and use my wonderful carnival mask stamp to work on the black and white theme. I really wanted to use the two masks on one card but the two plastics shrunk at a different rate and the black mask ended up quite a bit smaller. Hmmm worth remembering!!!

After shrinking and flattening the plastic I quickly (yes I did burn my fingers) wrapped it round a small bottle to get the curved effect. There is a lot of silicone glue holding those masks on -but they do seem to be holding firm.

Happy Birthday Annie

I was too late to send a birthday card to Annie but maybe this card will help to put things right. Annie does the most wonderful cards and her blog http://inknrubba.blogspot.com/ is one of my favourite places to visit. Monday was her birthday and she set a birthday challenge...

'make a girly birthday card with flowers on it and pretty papers'

Well mine has the flowers and the backing paper with leaves and lady birds is pretty in it's own way so I do hope she will like this card. I've added 'Happy Day' as I'm rather late for the actual birthday!!! The flowers are 'Jolees' and came as a little gift with some stamps that I ordered from America and the paper is part of a sheet in the 12" x 12" DCWV Spring collection.

Ismaki - Challenge 12

Trust me to do last week's Ismaki challenge this week - I don't know - I suppose I will have to blame my age!! Anyway does it really matter? I really enjoyed myself making these cards and want to say thank you so much to everyone involved in creating the wonderful card maps and ideas on http://ismaki.wordpress.com/ . I will certainly do more using these maps in the future.

Both cards are on a lilac theme and use papers from the DCWV Floral Matt Stack. One is a Magnolia Tilda stamp and the other a really sweet Cuddly Buddly that a friend stamped for me. Thank you Irene!!!

Thank you so much to great friends who have become followers of my blog. Love having you around.
