Dare I post this...

Okay I will! 

For ages and ages I've wanted to scrapbook my photos.  I must admit to doing one or two pages a year or maybe more ago, but never seemed to get round to doing more.  Bought the albums and papers and was at the ready, but just never got going.

Well all that has changed!  I've made a start and had a lovely time scrapping with my daughter the other day.  It was just great to play alongside each other and it brought back so many happy memories too.  

So here is my first page of a scrapbook celebrating a very special holiday quite a few years back now.  It's a plain page up to the wonderful embellished pages I've seen around, but I'm happy with it and that's what really matters.  Only another 100 or so photos to go now!  

Sheesh better get busy!

• Papermania 12" x 12" beige card from Earth tones pack
• gold border peel offs
• palm tree punch
• Plantain Schoolbook cartridge to cut lettering for title
• computer generated journalling
• gold paper and stardust white

Friday fun at Bah! Humbug! ...

Yeah this week at Bah! Humbug! our theme is 'border punches' which means everyone will have the chance to bring out their favourite punches and show some stunning borders on their cards.  I'm guessing we'll see a lot of Martha Stewart this week, but on my card I've dug out my old (very old) back of the deepest drawer Fiskars snowflake border punch.

I deserve a medal for using this as each time I punched I had to give it a thump to get it back into action for the next one. Sheesh wonder if this means treating myself to one of the new 'punch through anything' models you can get now?  Any excuse!

To create my card I used the fabulous sketch from the Pollycraft Monday challenge and of course the super cute image is one of the Pollycraft Christmas Pixies that are on sale at the moment.  The scrummy 'Winter Wonderland' DP was in my stash and I'm not sure of the maker.

ooooooooops...

Completely forgot to put this on my blog last week and I do know Irene wanted to see the flowers as she very kindly stepped in and ordered the die for me and then posted it on.

Why did she have to do that?  

Well, some companies insist on making you register to buy in their online store.  Hmmm, okay in theory, but dipsticks like me create a password and weeks later can't get order anything cause they can't remember their password!

The 'forgot password' button gives no response and even a message on their contact button got me nowhere so much as I like their products I'll order elsewhere in future.
Anyway less moaning.  I love the die used to create the flower on my box.  It's one of the Marianne Ribbon Flower Sets and cuts beautifully.  Two flowers and the swirl in the set.  Just gorgeous.  When I used the flower I didn't even realise that you could put ribbon through it.  Silly me!  I will be doing that next time.  The gem brad in the middle is one of a set I bought at the NEC - yikes only four left now.  Hmmmmmm, will anyone else get one on a card/box?  They will have to be very special to qualify.  Think I like these brads more than tassels!
The box was made to hold the set of cards I made here and was a present for a non card making friend.  She was really over the moon with the gift.
