Autumn Ismaki Sketch...

Another autumnal card using Joanna Sheen's fabulous CD 'The Cardmaker's Year'. I really love this CD - I know it's been out for ages but it's new to me and I just really like the way the images are sorted into months of the year. Really cool idea.
My card is fits the challenge at http://cutecardthursday.blogspot.com/ this week which is to make a card using Autumn as the theme. I have used this week's sketch at http://ismaki.wordpress.com/ which was designed by Isabelle Norris. I'm sorry Isabelle but I don't feel to have done your sketch justice - I've had one of those times when things started out well but went down hill rapidly!!! I'm only half pleased with the finished card.
Materials used:
  • brown base card
  • burnt orange card
  • Joanna Sheen CD 'The Cardmaker's Year'.
  • embossed leaf punch
  • orange vellum and brown pearlescent paper (for leaves)
  • brown brads
  • Hero Arts clear sentiment stamps

Trees and leaves...

A card made witht the challenge at http://www.mytimetocraftchallenge.blogspot.com/ in mind. This is another autumnal card made using Joanna Sheen's Cardmaker's Year CD. I love the soft colours in this image and the gentleness of the little girl exploring the countryside.
The cream base card used is one I especially like (and I can't remember where I got it!) as it has a gold shimmer to it - very subtle but ideal to use with autumnal hues.
Materials used:
  • Cream base card
  • Gold mirri card
  • Cardmaker's Year CD
  • Gold sentiment peel off
As the card is one that I would send at any time to cheer a friend it is also perfect for the challenge at http://tandastamps.blogspot.com/ where the theme is to make a card not for a special occasion but just to say you care.

Autumnal Notelet...

I don't know about anyone else, but whenever I go on holiday I really miss my crafting but then when I get back I find it tricky to get back in the swing of things. Maybe it's because there are so many things I want to try out. I must admit there were quite alot of parcels from ebay waiting to be opened when I got home.

Anyway this autumnal card is for the challenge at http://artygirlzchallengeblog.blogspot.com/ and was made using the Joanna Sheen CD 'A Cardmaker's Year' which I bought when it was on special offer a couple of weeks back. A really great CD and I can't understand why I didn't buy it when it first came out - I should have done!

Materials used:
  • brown base card
  • gold paper
  • vellum
  • orange gem stones
  • Joanna Sheen 'A cardmaker's year' CD for backing paper and image

Autumn Haze...

Two challenges this week have the theme of Autumn. At http://papertakeweekly.blogspot.com/ the theme is anything you relate to autumn and Cynthia at http://rainbowladyschallengeblog.blogspot.com/ would like us to work on autumnal leaves.
She also added a tiny twist to the theme by insisting that everyone used at least one stamp. I used a huge stamp by Stamps Happen which almost fills a DL card! Beautiful stamp though and very easy to work with even though it is so large.

My card is for a friend (who I don't think checks my blog) who is going through a very sad time and I just wanted to send her my love.

Materials used:
  • Cream based card covered with black pearlescent paper.
  • brown slightly sparkly card
  • watercolour card
  • Inktense Pencil crayons
  • Sakura Stardust clear pen - for leave veins - not viewable in photo but in real life gives a touch of frost.
  • gold sentiment peel off
  • Autumn leaves stamp by Stamps Happen Inc

Thank you so much to great friends who have become followers of my blog. Love having you around.
